Carlos Suárez Álvarez is an author and ethnographic researcher based on the city of Leticia, in the Colombian Amazon. He holds a master’s degree in Amazonian Studies, from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and has conducted extensive fieldwork in the Peruvian, Colombian and Brazilian Amazon, with special interest in ayahuasca shamanism in both traditional and touristic contexts. Among his publications publications are the multimedia book Ayahuasca, Iquitos and Monster Vorax, the novel Ayahuasca, Love and a Troubled Soul, and the photobook Ayahuasca entre dos mundos, which make up the Ayahuasca Trilogy.
