Post-Conference Activities

Post-Conference Community Building

Chacruna Institute is thrilled to offer some post-conference community building opportunities that will give attendees and community members a chance to come together and explore parts of beautiful San Francisco, whose roots are in many ways deeply tied to the psychedelic movement. This is an exciting opportunity for folks who are visiting San Francisco, especially for the first time!

  • Golden Gate Park

A lush urban oasis filled with breathtaking gardens, serene lakes, and hidden gems, offering visitors endless opportunities to explore, relax, and connect with nature in the heart of San Francisco.

  • Haight-Ashbury Street

A vibrant and historic neighborhood where colorful murals, eclectic shops, and the spirit of the 1960s counterculture come alive, inviting visitors to explore its unique blend of art, music, and history.

  • McAbee Beach in Monterey

A charming, tucked-away spot where golden sands meet calm waters, perfect for a peaceful escape, beachcombing, or enjoying stunning views of Monterey Bay’s marine life and coastal beauty.

  • Monterey Bay Aquarium

Offers an unforgettable journey beneath the ocean’s surface, where mesmerizing marine life, interactive exhibits, and stunning views of Monterey Bay inspire awe and connection with the wonders of the sea.

Monday, March 31st

  • We will convene at Coffee to the People, a cozy neighborhood cafe that brews organic & fair trade coffee amid couches, books & board games.

  • We will make our way to the historic Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, which is the birthplace of the counterculture movement of the 1960s, and is composed of a hodgepodge of vintage clothing boutiques, record shops, bookstores, dive bars and casual, eclectic restaurants.

  • We will have lunch at Citrus Club, which is a popular Pan-Asian restaurant serving noodles & soups, plus creative cocktails, in cool, casual digs on Haight St.

  • We will then move towards Golden Gate park, near the Music Concourse, to explore the surrounding areas which include: Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Botanical Gardens, Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden and more.

  • We will conclude by walking back to the Coffee to the People and departing from there.
