A physician and psychiatrist, Tófoli is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, Brazil. He coordinates the Interdisciplinary Cooperation for Ayahuasca Research and Outreach (ICARO) at UNICAMP and leads the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Studies on Psychoactive Substances (LEIPSI). He is a member of the Medical Sciences/Mental Health and Collective Health graduate programs and serves on the Municipal Council on Drug Policies in Campinas. His publications focus on the therapeutic use of psychedelics, drug policies, and mental health in primary care.
